CNN:

A Frontier Airlines plane aborted takeoff after it struck a person on a runway at Denver International Airport late Friday, a spokesperson for the carrier and the Federal Aviation Administration told CNN.

Flight 4345, an Airbus A321, was departing from Denver en route to Los Angeles and carried 224 passengers and 7 crew members, Frontier Airlines said in a statement. It was scheduled to depart at 10:39 p.m. local time.

As the plane was departing, “the aircraft reportedly struck a pedestrian on the runway during takeoff,” the airline said.

The guy got sucked into one of the jet engines, which ejected only one identifiable limb onto the runway.

In official airport terminology - the trespasser was "fully or partially consumed by an operative jet engine".

The person was at least partially consumed by one of the engines, an official confirmed to ABC News, igniting a massive engine fire. Passengers said smoke filled the plane within seconds.

Toronto’s Pearson airport is launching a multibillion-dollar upgrade that aims to boost passenger numbers by more than a third to 65 million a year by the early 2030s.

The revitalization plan looks to ramp up traffic and tighten on-time performance with improvements ranging from repaved runways to “modernized retail” and possible terminal expansions.

Kicking off Monday, the initial $3-billion phase revolves around an expanded airfield, better lighting systems, more electric vehicle charging and new baggage carousels.

Pretty ambitious.   Can't happen if we don't renew CUSMA with little change though.  If it is cancelled altogether our economy will shrink 15-25%, and we will have a recession worse than anything in the past 100 years.

Right, so we’ll need bigger airports to handle the exodus.

No, nothing, so it's probably just the office space getting gutted, so it will be a long time till anything else will be done.

Some kind of "limited" direct BCT bus to airport might come in September.

WestJet is venturing further north on Vancouver Island, with its first flight landing in Campbell River on Friday.

The airline will be running a new non-stop route to Calgary, marking its first flight from the coastal community. To start, there will be four flights a week, then in the third week of June it will be a daily flight.

Kermit Dahl, mayor of Campbell River, says this has been in the works for a long time.

The VAA, 2025 AGM was held on Tuesday, May 12th.

Very quietly too, I miss it too.

Held at the new hotel in Sidney, so missed out seeing the digs there as well.

Turn out for these events are normally very very low, besides local organizations representee's

But a link to the year that was 2025 at YYJ below.

Four crew members are in stable condition after two fighter jets collided mid-air during a US air show, officials say.

All the aircrew safely ejected from US Navy EA18-G jets that were performing an aerial demonstration when they crashed, a US Navy spokesperson told the BBC. It is unclear if they were injured.

The dramatic incident happened on Sunday, during the second and final day of the Gunfighter Skies air show, 2 miles (3.2km) northwest of Idaho's Mountain Home Air Force Base.

A fire erupted and the base was briefly locked down as the rest of the air show was cancelled. An investigation is underway.

They will all have spinal compression in all likelihood, might prevent them from future military flying.

On May 18, 2026, Delta Air Lines DAL CEO Ed Bastian expressed confidence in the airline's decision to partner with Amazon (AMZN) for its in-flight Wi-Fi service, opting for Amazon Leo over Starlink (STRLK). He highlighted that Amazon Leo offers a more affordable service that includes streaming content, which Starlink does not provide. With regulatory approval for launching 3,236 satellites, Amazon aims to enhance internet access in underserved areas. Delta's agreement will see the Leo service implemented on 500 aircraft starting in 2028.

Is "content" important?  People already have their apps and subscriptions, not sure they need free or enhanced content.   Nobody wants to be stuck inside some kind of AOL ecosystem.  Also, I do not know what the average person flies per year, but it's obviously not high, in terms of hours.

Maybe a pared down version of Prime. If you have to pay for it, then I dunno, it won’t be something I’ll be paying for unless it’s an international trans ocean flight and it’s the only option you have on board.

Most people just download a few shows to their own device and watch them at their leisure.

The wi-fi onboard is OK for checking e-mails and such but not much else.

I *much* prefer having a seatback device holder than a screen on the seat in front of me. Nothing beats watching the content you want.
