I like it when people use other peoples property for their own pleasure and then get upset when the owner wants to make some money on his investment.

Yes, that's it. They're staging supplies across the street from the actual construction site.

...19 stories proposed in Parksville
It'll never happen. The NIMBYs who retire from the CoV and move elsewhere make up a large portion of the Parksville-Qualicum population.

Saanich has just acquired some land near the Victoria and Oak Bay borders: https://www.cheknews...c-hydro-590027/
A Mayor’s Standing Committee has been created to develop and implement a fundraising plan, coordinate fundraising efforts within the community and provide recommendations to Council on financial contributions from other local governments.
The district says if council is unable to raise funds to offset the incurred debt, Saanich plans to unload a portion of the property to recuperate part of the cost.
whatever. "fundraising" is not getting taxpayer money from other governments.

The North Jubilee Neighbourhood Association, which is in Victoria but adjacent to Saanich, said earlier this year that the land is being purchased for a park: https://www.njna-vic...ubilee-hospital .

'Fundraising' will fail, a chunk of that land (adjacent to Victoria) will be sold off to 'repay' taxpayers. Sold off to a 'developer' to 'develop' who will build market housing, not low cost rental or 'affordable' housing stock.

Mann Construction's new headquarters was off the radar as it's at the very end of Borden away from any public street and can only be seen from the [edit:] Lochside trail near Blenkinsop.
The old building is at the left. Bonus view of the brand new bike trail washroom at the right.

^ *Lochside Trail.
Great addition to have that washroom facility at that major trail intersection of the Lochside Trail and Blenkinsop Greenway.

Sorry, I always get them mixed up. I was thinking of the San Juan Greenway which becomes the Blenkinsop Greenway which ends at the juncture shown in the photo above.

They've had those plans on their website for quite some time now. It's not clear when they intend to move forward, but given the overall market I doubt they could take on something quite this big at this time.

There was some chatter that the Elevate site had been recently sold to someone outside of Ecoasis.

How does the Times-Colonist get away with a headline saying that the 122 year old rock wall in Oak Bay was hammered in defiance of of a stop work order from the municipality then reveal in the article that no stop work order was in place?
yes that was very shabby writing.
