... Within two or three weeks I'll be back, and I'll have a more comprehensive review.

You'll be back in two to three weeks...  :(   Let's see if I can't help you out a bit.

I don't remember seeing a sign for Lure at the entrance before.

Nice entrance, it seems much brighter than before.

There is more seating in the lounge and a larger bar but gone is the more intimate feel of the smaller bar and extra cushy chairs/sofas.

The main dining area hasn't changed too much structurally - it still retains the raised center dining section surrounded by window tables and some booths.  What has changed is the all new furniture, paint, wall coverings, lighting etc.

What is new is the extensive outdoor seating areas on all three sides of the restaurant.  The large patio also has a fire pit.

It turns out those wooden booths were for the outside patio after all.

The good news is the food is still delicious and many of your favorites from the old menu appear to still be there.  :rtfm:

We decided to share their mozzarella, asparagus, prosciutto, and mushroom flat bread along with their crab cakes.  Just great!

Thanks Gary. Has the menu become more mainstream? Back in the day Lure was probably second in line after the Empress Restaurant in terms of fancy dining. The food was always so darned good.

Know it all.

Just wondering if anyone has specifically been for to Lure for Christmas brunch? I've never eaten there at all at anytime of year, and looking at their regular i.e. non-Christmas menu offerings, they frankly aren't doing much to spin my propeller. At this point their Christmas-holiday menu is not yet published on the website.

My sis is organizing an extended family schmooze-fest on Dec 25th for brunch. I assume it will offer up standard Christmas-style fare which would be just fine with me.  The price is not bad - $59.99pp, compared to Bear Mtn, where we've gone in previous years, which is now closer to $100pp.
