First of all, we officially made the playoffs last night. We scored on all of our first 4 shots, including two goals by 34 seconds into the game in Utah. 7-1 Victoria final.
Now, you all must go to a game. You can go to SYTickets on MONDAY and get a game-ticket for next Saturday for just $7.50. I believe Saturday WILL be a sell-out at that price.
Come on folks, support your local pro team!

Scoring barrage during second period lifts Victoria over Utah

Not only are the Victoria Salmon Kings the hottest thing in the ECHL, they sure know how to ruin a good party.
The Salmon Kings took the celebratory air out of the E Center by defeating Utah 5-1 before 6,088 fans yesterday in the Grizzlies' final ECHL regular-season home game for 2006-07 in Salt Lake City.
Here are the season ticket forms for next season, folks. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
The game was actually close until the Salmon Kings went on a tear by scoring three goals through Paul Ballantyne, Mike Stutzel and Robin Gomez in about two and a half minutes late in the second period to go ahead 4-1 and turn the contest into a marketing nightmare for the Grizz.
It was Victoria's sixth consecutive win, which is a club record. The Salmon Kings, 18-6-3 since Jan. 24, lost in regulation time only once in March.
Vancouver Canucks-contracted forward F.P. Guenette had a goal and two assists and was named the game's first star. Goaltender Julien Ellis, another Canucks-contracted player and who was returned this week from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, made 34 saves to be named the game's second star.
Forward Stutzel, with a goal and an assist, was the third star while Victoria forward Wes Goldie slammed home his franchise-record 40th goal of the season.
Victoria will finish seventh in the National Conference and play the conference's second seed.
But you would have to be the Amazing Kreskin to guess which team that will be.
The second-place Las Vegas Wranglers are now within one point of the conference-leading Alaska Aces following the 4-2 victory by Vegas over Alaska yesterday before 7,126 fans at the Orleans Casino and Resort.
The Aces, however, have it far easier in the final week and close out with three games at home in Anchorage against last-place Utah, which is now officially eliminated.
The third-place Bakersfield Condors were 4-3 shootout losers yesterday at Stockton before 7,344 fans but are still potentially in the mix for Victoria in the first round of the post-season as the Condors are four points behind Vegas and five in arrears of Alaska.
But more likely, it's looking to be either Flames farm-team Las Vegas or defending Kelly Cup-champion and Blues farm-team Alaska for the Salmon Kings in their first-ever playoff appearance.
In an intriguing plot line twist to a possible Victoria-Vegas series, the Wranglers have signed bruising six-foot-three Victoria hockey-product Sean O'Connor for their stretch and playoff drives.
The Oak Bay High grad, and former 82nd overall pick by the Florida Panthers, missed this season to date after incurring an injury in the training camp of the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL. O'Connor played yesterday and must also suit up for the four remaining Wrangler regular-season games to be eligible for the ECHL playoffs. In visits in seasons past to Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre with the Wranglers, O'Connor was a player Salmon Kings fans loved to hate.
The Salmon Kings return Wednesday to SOFMC to face the Phoenix RoadRunners, desperate to retain the eighth and final National Conference playoff spot, but who helped their cause immensely yesterday by defeating the Falcons 4-2 before 5,627 fans in Fresno, Calif.
The Salmon Kings close out the regular season with games at SOFMC on Friday and next Saturday against Phoenix. There is a push to sell out the final game with the first crowd in excess of 7,000 in Island hockey history. Tickets are being put on offer for $5 on Monday for Saturday's regular-season curtain dropper.

Jesus says celebrate my resurrection not around the table but at the rink--watching the SKings resurrect their season. Amen.

Could close out the regular season with 9 straight wins. Unclear still who we play in round 1 of the PO.

So what happens with sell outs? I imagine RG Properties wants to maximize this good fortune while it lasts. Do they release tickets over and above the official capacity? Are they allowed SROs? Are all the skyboxes occupied?

A remarkable performance so far.

Don't expect another sell out unless we go very deep. The team has to pay a head tax to the league to pay for player bonuses, so now they cannot lie about attendance, or afford to give away any freebies or contra. 95% of the teams drop from their average reg. season attandance until they get into third round or so. Expect it to probably happen here too.
No SRO, no where to stand except in the lounge. Single tix for lounge-access are $29 as opposed to $21 for regular seats.
$6US to watch the internet feed at home, free to go watch it at Soprano's onj the big-screen. No TV.
