Who would not give $8 a month for the right to use the “proud supporter” logo and bragging rights inside your business?
10,000 individual citizens would likely pay that.
In 35 years of running this well-known and respectable prestigious event, they have never attempted to build a book of small individual donors. Why not?

I think you’d find that the names on these banners have indeed provided substantial funding (or goods in kind): https://gvha.ca/even...ny-splash-2025/
As to why there aren’t more banners, which would mean more private funders - I don’t know.

For sure, but like I say why not build a book over 35 years, of 20,000 small donors?

Why not hold it on Saturday to attract more out-of-town guests?
Neither Alberta nor the US has a holiday the following Monday.
Hotels can give it a harder "Splash weekend" push.
I know, I know, some of you will say "hotels are already full in the summer!"
They mostly are, but they almost all use dynamic pricing now, they can GET MORE MONEY on this weekend.

One year when it was rained out it was held on the lawn and it worked out well. I'm pretty sure by the second year it was in the harbour as I remember going over to Vancouver to see Les Miz or something and returning to the bus depot just as it was ending. I'd be happy with it on the lawn.

Foster will perform on a floating barge accompanied by the Victoria Symphony at the (Saturday) Inner Harbour event, with surprise guests expected to appear.
“We are going to take the bar and raise it,” Ravenhill said.

So it's the Symphony Splash just one week later than usual?
