^ I'm just bitter that I don't have a yacht and very likely never will.

Those are the best types of yachts, the ones that your friends own!

Wouldn't it take time for owners to switch their yachts here, as they'll wait for their current leases to expire first?

There is a lot of demand for that style of moorage. It will be full in no time.

I wish it was full. Having an after dinner walk by and looking at the fancy yachts is a great way to spend a summer evening.

Most of the moorage that I have had out on the peninsula has run from April to April.

They missed it by that much.

Do you guys really think that anybody who's paid $10 to $25 million for a boat really cares if there's $15 thousand left on their lease at some other less desirable marina?

I think you need to get out and meet a few more multi-millionaires! :)

Isn't that what VV's summer barbecue is for?

My yacht won't fit in the marina, and Ogden Point is waaaay too big, and no it's not my turn to have the on board VV summer barbeque.

As I walked by the marina I noticed a couple of the glass panels in the fencing were sponsored/advertised Vancouver Island Helicopters, I didn't notice a helipad. I guess they are hoping the well heeled will make their way over to Camel Point. Do the little harbour ferries transit there?

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.

They don't go out to Camel Point, as it would expose them to open water.

They can ply the Inner Harbour, but not the Outer Harbour.

Still lots of background details to attend to requiring many weeks or months' work yet, according to my neighbor who is the PM for the new marina. She mentioned one of the biggest headaches all along was getting the (BC) hydro permitting for the power to the facility.

Interesting. The VIM website also mentions a partnership with VIH Execujet, so I imagine we may see their Cessna Caravan float plane down there on occasion.

Would be great to have any of the air operators pick up and drop off with us. Almost every client to date has requested it. Several complications exist with doing so. Only the future will tell...

Gotcha. So is VIH Execujet currently picking up from the Harbour Air docks when they do inner harbour charters?

Yes, they can. Anyone that passes a qualifying exam, can fly in to the harbour.

Took the floatplane to Vancouver several days back. Marina was 100% vacant/empty/devoid of boats. I was a bit surprised.

What's the plan here? Is it expected that this would be empty in winter and only occupied in summer? Is it normal for a new marina to take quite a while to fill up?
