Ah. So if you're the first 150 people, you can walk away with a free growler. If you pay $9, it can be a free, full growler.

Ok, just the glass bottle is free.

The advertisement could have been better worded, I'd say, but whatever, first world problems

Shouldn't the growler be free anyway?
I've never had to buy a can of beer separate from the beer.

Jesus the rebranding of VI Brewery is awful.
It's a big step backwards in my books. If it was a new brewery with this branding, sure. But what they had before was much nicer and iconic.

You do, though! The deposit fee, which you can get back.

It doesn't help the confusion that VictoriaBCToday and associated sites are promoting it on Facebook as a "free beer" event.
Free beer/fake news. We misread the promotion too. First world problem. Nobody asked for a retraction! We did fix it though.

Nah, the deposit fee is government social engineering. The cost of the aluminum is built into the beer price.

^ The key difference is that the growler is refillable, whereas you can't walk into Phillips and ask them to refill your Blue Buck can as if it were a cup of coffee at McDs.

They never should have dropped Islander and their new logo sucks. Also, who needs another under proof Cerveca.

VIB has applied for rezoning to permit a tasting room within the existing building. Building additions are not proposed, as the tasting room would be located entirely within what is currently the retail area.

Their web site says they already have a tasting room and it was renovated in 2017.

Technically yes, they have a place where they are allowed to serve up to 12 oz of beer in 4 oz servings. This proposal would remove those limits.
