I don't know if any of you have tried this or want to ride the bus for everything... but I wanted to point out a feature of google that is particularly useful.

Check out Google Transit

Learn about Google Transit: http://maps.google.c...TransitHomepage

It's just like Google maps except it allows you to get instructions on how to take public transportation from place to place. The entire Vancouver transit system is programmed in. Victoria isn't in there yet.

You just type in where you are leaving from and either the time you want to leave or the time you want to arrive, and the destination.

The result it kicks out is pretty neat. Take the number whatever bus at this time, transfer here, take this number bus, arrive at thus and such.

The whole bus schedule is automated and totally useful with this tool.

Now if Victoria would get on board and put all their data in Google's system, I think a lot more people would find it useful and so, use public transportation more frequently. I know I would.

Lots of major cities and several minor ones are in there. Check it out.
