One suspects that the third floor might simply be closed, not yet deconstructed.

It’s a good question given the recent about face. Reopening it, if it still exists, would restore the museum to a bona fide attraction. You would think there’s at least one reporter in this town curious enough to find out.

...the photos of life during Covid did not appeal at all...
"I heard they had an impressive collection of masks in this museum, but this is ridiculous!"
Anyway, if they weren't impressed by the covid exhibit then I'd also recommend skipping the housing crisis exhibit and the sewage treatment exhibit altogether. Just go straight to the hall of politicians. It's an interactive exhibit: the politicians will say whatever they're programmed to say.

I wonder if they have the life with Covid and how they treated the Japanese side by side? That would be worth the $5 for the Irony! It should be noted that unvaccinated fled the country feeling the same fate was possible again. I’m sure they have Trudeau’s threatening speeches playing in the IMAX…

They missed a real opportunity to update the Old Town exhibit. They could have installed shabbily dressed manikins huddling beneath blankets and empty bottles crouched into the doorways. Add a few broken shop windows, some syringes and plastic poop, and there you have it. All the charm of modern Victoria without the risk of getting stabbed or assaulted.

Trouble is, we only want plastic poop.

So let’s get this straight. The public is not allowed to visit the history floor at the Royal B.C. Museum due to claimed “decolonization,” yet they can still attend the Imax and watch Top Gun: Maverick instead.
Instead of offering the public Canadian history, we are still allowed to be fed Big Brother next door’s Hollywood version of reality. 1984 is not an instruction manual for the party.

Some disadvantaged people rarely get the opportunity to be beat over the head by politics, CNN, Hollywood, etc. Kudos to the RBCM for stepping up to address this.

Wasn’t the gold rush also like that in reality? I once found a glass syringe digging a deep hole
