Heck, you could just build a gondola over James Bay!

Fairfield ain't no suburb!
I called it a heritage suburb ;-) it's a suburb, it's just a real nice one that is walking distance to town. It's a residential area with streets that children play on. Not appropriate to suddenly put a ferry terminal on the back side of it....

Fair enough ;-) insert neighbourhood where I say suburb... Same thing applies. a ferry terminal at the other end of a residential neighbourhood such that the traffic will have to flow through the neighborhood makes no sense at all! especially a nice heritage neighbourhood like fairfield! A tram running along cook and across May would be a welcome return though!

The Coho only takes 100 cars. Dallas at Cook has 12,000 cars a day according to CRD traffic counts. 12,400 won't hurt.

Passenger capacity:1000
Vehicle capacity: 115
Its actually 9 trips in the summer so another 1035 cars plus the ones that drive and park to be pedestrian passengers or pick up and drop off pedestrians. Also concentrate this in the hours of arrival and departure... do I really need to explain further why this is a terrible idea?

9 trips? How is that even possible? 4 return trips in the summer only. At the most it's a few hundred cars every 4 hours. The early departure and late arrival will be very minor. Seems easy.

Coho departs Victoria 10:30am, 3:00pm, 7:30 pm - May 15- Sept 21.
If you are downtown you can set your watch by it as the ship sounds the horn to go into reverse.

It overnights here in the summer, your schedule is missing the first trip out.

Hillside Quadra is a "heritage neighbourhood" and yet traffic flows through there all day.

I count 4 trips per day from June 20th until Labour Day. It overnights in PA except this busy part of the year.

Oh I see.
I thought there was an extra sailing only on June 19 and June 20 and then again on Sept 7 and 8th.
So eight trips per day, not nine as suggested earlier.
With nine sailings and one boat the schedule would be fubar every second day.

sorry...eight... If we are talking traffic. If its 115 car capacity then 115 get on the going and 115 get off the coming so this is why you need to consider both ways to count the cars....
