In your aryze
The light the heat
In your aryze
I am complete
In your aryze
I see the doorway
To a thousand not-just-churches...

What are some examples of architecture that you do like and why?

He probably likes that watered-down faux-Arts&Crafts stuff that comes off the assembly line these days.

A CALUC meeting will be held in Fairfield on Feb 27 for a proposed new rental development on Burdett:
The proposal is to rezone 1120, 1124, and 1128 Burdett Avenue to accomodate a five storey purpose built rental building with approximately 42 units and 40 parking stalls. The suite mix includes studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units.

So the existing four-storey proposal has been nixed?
https://victoria.cit...burdett-avenue/
Perhaps it's just a revised design with an additional storey etc ...?

A few projects previously discussed in this thread are going to CotW or Council on Thursday Feb 27:
514/518 Sumas, a 3-storey townhouse development, is going to council for a public hearing
11 Chown Place (58 unit affordable housing development) is going to CotW for consideration of the development permit
1015 Cook Street (The Charlesworth), a 5-storey, 31-unit rental project, is going to CotW for consideration of development permit and rezoning
Staff are in support of all three projects.

....Staff are in support of all three projects.
I guarantee at least one council member will be questioning the value of these projects.

I saw a sign a few days ago at The Salt & Pepper Fox on Government (b/w Herald and Chatham) that said that they were going to be closed March 1 as the city needed to shut the water off in the area for part of the day.

No images yet, but a townhouse development has just been proposed for 2580 Vancouver Street in the Hillside Quadra area. The proposal calls for 8 units in 3 buildings; Alan Lowe is architect.

If it’s Empressa that’s behind it then yes.
OK, the previous 4 storey proposal for 1120 Burdett has been modified by the developer (Empresa) - it is now a 5-storey building with a portion rising to just 3 storeys, and the unit count has increased to 42 units with 40 parking stalls. Apparently the design now 'better fits' the immediate neighbourhood. Unit sizes range from studios to 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom suites.
No images are available yet, but you can find the CALUC summary at: https://fairfieldcom...-27-2020-V3.pdf

I believe this project will replace just the 2 houses closest to Vancouver @ Kings.
