city buys site. suddenly Aryze is the proponent. how convenient.
isn’t there normally an RFP etc.?
Part of that process would be the proponent throwing it out to an architectural firm who whips up a few feasibility sketches for internal deliberation. Then it gets shopped around to see if it fits the bill.

^That's exactly it. Good catch.
They're going to say the height is justified due to the monster next door.

So essentially you accused us online of some inside deal to subvert a public process (aka fraud) and I corrected you and I’m the strange one? A simple “my bad, I’ll ask next time” was the easy thing here…Aryze is the strangest developer I’ve ever encountered in all my years on this planet.
I’m surprised they even know how to swing a hammer in the right direction.
In all seriousness though. I misread a previous post about pandora.
Aryze could have in an earlier post named the location though.

somebody will complain about displaced tenants.
And the height, and the increased traffic, and the destruction of a heritage building, and the loss of trees....etc. etc.

Question for the class: are there any known plans for the Volvo dealership at Yates/Cook/View? It seems to be the only large lot in that Harris Green area that doesn't have an application in with the city. Are they just staying a dealership as far as we know?

I don't know if it's been mentioned here but Aryze is also looking to redevelop the Telus site on Foul Bay, adjacent to the Save On Foods plaza.

Mike,
Do you know if GAIN has any long term plans to develop the *new* Volvo dealership on the east side of Cook Street, which used to be the BMW dealership back in the day?

Not that long ago that property was eyed for a Dollarama. Long terms plans are likely a redevelopment play.
