- There's now also a Bobcat present
- Site has been dug down maybe two feet
- Layer of gravel on the bottom

We need more of these roving updates. Brand them as "VV on the move" or something like that. You're welcome, Mike.

Part of the site now has wooden forms on the ground. Preparing for pouring concrete, methinks.

It appears something is planned for Niagara Street near the Douglas Street intersection.
This is the current building at that location
A developer is planning to lift the house and convert it into 4 strata-titled character units.
Rezoning and DP for 672 Niagara are going to COTW on Thursday, May 17th. Staff recommend support of the rezoning and issuance of the DP with variances. Report and plans can be found in the online agenda, here: https://pub-victoria...lang=English#12

Oooh look a giant house.

Maybe someone misheard the Council direction for "more housing" and decided to provide "more house?"

From FGCA:
“Abigail’s hotel at 906 McClure St. has bought the adjacent house at 910 McClure St.
The proposal is to build a standalone hotel with main floor breakfast area and three floors of hotel rooms (11 in total). There will be an extension of the surface parking at the rear of the property. “
A rendering of the proposed building:
The application is in, plans have not been posted yet. They'll be here: https://tender.victo...Number=REZ00648

953 Balmoral, an 11-unit workforce housing proposal, is back before CoTW this Thursday (June 7) with a commitment to extend the rental commitment to 25 years. The CoTW was 4-4 in April; city staff are still opposed to the development and recommend that the developer purchase adjacent lots for a larger development.

Not sure where else to put this.
The Vancouver Island School of Art [VISA] has found a new home – pending approval from the City of Victoria...VISA said plans are in process with ARYZE Developments and Purdey Group, to move into a 6,000 sq. ft. space currently under consideration as part of the proposed mixed-use residential project Ross Terrace, in the 2500-block of Fifth Street in Quadra Village..

Great school, great project, great addition of density to the village. Love it.

The only "flaw" is the lack of connection to Quadra Street.
