I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation as to why buildings in Harris Green have a height limit of 45 meters. 50 years from now we will regret this.

That sounds like a very long-term plan if they want to push above 20-storeys in Harris Green.
That sounds long term based on where the economy is going

I am not sure if there is a dedicated thread for this* but the rental project on Fifth Street (Ross Terrace) in the Quadra Village is now up on the development tracker
*if there is, mods please move this post

Thanks Nparker... not an easy feet on a phone.
Well now we know why you are having trouble. Try using your fingers, you will find you have much better fine motor skills.

1175 Douglas (the CIBC building) has been undergoing interior renos for a while. There's now a Development Permit with Variances application on the Dev Tracker. No info yet, probably nothing exciting, but figured we could get the rumour mill working early. Dev Tracker: https://tender.victo...Number=DPV00109

I think a while back G-Man had said that they will be applying to have the CIBC signage replaced with that of one of the building's largest (new) tenants.
Know it all.

Would be cool if they did new exterior cladding

Although not to everyone's taste, Brutalist architecture is only made worse when someone tries to cover it up.

Signage would just be a sign permit, right? DP with variances is where my interest piqued. For all I know they could just be adding an awning somewhere and need a setback relaxation.

Ah, right. I’m surprised we still haven’t heard about the planned signage change.
Well, it seems you're right! VicMap says it's a sign variance.

...VicMap says it's a sign variance.
But everyone will still call it the CIBC building.

Must be ground floor signage? Colliers? Manulife? I can't imagine CIBC getting bumped off the top.

I guess it's a money talks thing because CIBC remains the most prominent tenant. It's their flagship branch here. I remember the original brutalist concrete interior.
