...A 7 unit townhouse development has been proposed for 514 and 518 Sumas in Burnside Gorge.

Too tall! Too dense! Too grey! Also, I am sure it will ruin the adjacent park. Won't someone please think of the children?!?

You forgot to mention the trees and those bushes in front. Are they not deserving of protection? When is the vigil scheduled for?  :1954_dancing:

All existing trees in the boulevard to be retained, no vigil required. Can't say the same for smaller ones on the property, it'll be clear cut. Pour one out for the condemned.

Does anyone know what sort of development is planned for 1114 Rockland, the site of a burned-out mansion?  A preliminary meeting will take place at the Fairfield CALUC on May 16.

Jawl’s Application to replace Garden Works on Oak Bay Ave is up on City of Victoria’s Dev Tracker now; plans call for 35 new residences.

^ Big units, which will make a lot of people happy. 14 1BR, 15 2BR, and 6 3BR (though some are 2BR+den)

Yes, they are strata residences; the developer intends to contribute to the city’s affordable housing fund too.

Not sure I feel the treatment above the top balcony?

 

Is it louvers or coloured glass? Seems to me it would pop out of its frame in a gale.

It looks like some sort of open slats. Not the best idea for our climate, emergency or not.

It looks like there is a preliminary plan to build 150 units of social housing and a 50-bed mental health facility at 950 Kings Road.  The neighbourhood association is speaking out against it:  https://www.timescol...lity-1.23809146
