Somehow they got all the patio glass installed in one day.  Also the "public areas" seem to be almost complete.  Hopefully they open it up soon.  I'd love a mid-block path to explore.

One of the workers has a good sense of humor.  He (or she, it was a pink bike) put his bike upside down on the ground fan grate and now the front tire is spinning.  I suspect it will spin all day.

Excavation-wise they sure are taking their time with this one, compared to 1515.  The footings for phase 2 are still going in, but there's a lot of material left in there so it could be weeks before the first parking level pour happens.

Townline needs to scrub-up the top of that pillar.  :P

HW 1 & 2 are truly transformative projects. So happy to see this investment close to my part of downtown.

I'm so happy to see the current level of construction activity ... close to your part of downtown ... and all parts of Victoria, in fact greater Victoria.

It's a towering monster that very slightly looms over everything. Seriously though, the highest couple of floors should have been set back a bit and distinguished visually one way or another. But then you don't need to hear me say that, you can just read it off the T-shirt that I'm wearing at all times.

Centra Gas was a really good building. It really works with the HBC (perhaps better now than ever, with the HBC looking so spiffy and restored after Townline's work on it). Give somebody a few points for that. Another building of that class down on the corner would be great.

Actually, HW-1 should have been 5 floors taller and all of those set back/visually distinguished.

I'm really liking the "near" pure concrete look of the new tower - it's a breath of fresh air for our skyline.

All the exposed concrete on HW1 is being painted - n'est-ce pas? I'm not sure it's part of a local "béton brut" revival.

Well the mechanical penthouse is already set back a bit.

Oh, you mean actual, livable floors?  That I agree with.

I do like how the building lines up perfectly with the Hudson breezeway, or whatever it's called.  My pic from Sunday:

Now let's get on with the next 2 towers at the original Hudson site. Strike while the iron (housing market) is hot!

/\ they always have there.. no rules enforced there, it's like a free for all, I assume because it's not a city road but a building parking lot?

Parking it permitted on only one side of the alleyway and it's accessible from two streets, so you can park in either direction there.
