I rode my bike past there recently (at a leisurely pace) and all I learned over a period of about a minute or so was that there is a beverage called Coca-Cola, the latest headlines from this morning's Times-Colonist and that Ed Bain hosts a morning show on Q 100.3 FM.

Gumgum you should scalp them to me for 10 bucks. That is mathematically an infinite profit for you.

Coca-Cola is a beverage laced with caffeine, cocaine, and stem cells from little kittens. It is allowed to advertise on the sign because it is sold inside the arena. The Q FM is allowed to advertise because, uh...their radio waves pass through the arena.
That's probably why I'm addicted to it.
Anyway, I'd say everyone should see BNL. I saw them in Prince George in 2001 and they were so much fun!!!

Victoria News Sep 20 2006
I was delighted to read Brennan Clarke's Sept. 13 article "Save-On-Foods sees dearth of summer acts." At last, someone is saying something about our multi-million dollar arena sitting empty.
I had to laugh reading Dave Dakers excuse that "Summer is normally very slow, and last summer was exceptionally busy."
Yes, David, and why is that? Because you clearly are not connected into the various tour schedules as other promoters on the Lower Mainland and in Seattle.
It is not by magic that acts become booked and it would seem the blame falls squarely on the centre's management.
For a moment let's forget about the dozens of acts that toured this past summer - none of which R.G. Properties was able to line up.
What about the fall? It's not like summer is the only time people tour. Paul Simon for instance will play two nights at the "Queen E" in Vancouver.
If he spends two days in Vancouver chances are he could have played Victoria. How about others like the Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Johnny Lang, the Goo-Goo Dolls or Bonnie Raitt? I'm sure you could have secured a date in Victoria.
How about smaller acts then?
Look at other smaller venues in Vancouver Like the Little Rock Casino and the new Red Robinson show theatre in Coquitlam.
Over the fall they will host: Heart, David Spade, Dennis Miller, Don Rickles, Tony Bennett (breath, two, three, four,) Joan Rivers, America, Air Supply, Lisa Marie Presley, Bill Cosby, Huey Lewis and the News, and Little Richard.
As is typical with RG properties, there are a lot of questions and no answers.
One thing Victoria City council did wrong was make a bad deal with the wrong company - we needed a arena, no question, but we needed better more visionary and talented folks who looked to embrace this city and its many desires for entertainment, instead of holding the city at arms length.
So R.G. is "satisfied from a business point of view of where we're at." Guess what - no one else in Victoria is.
Mr. Dakers here's a news flash - it's not your arena. You and your folks manage it, and not very well.
If there's one thing Victorians are used to it's downsizing and management "restructuring."
I can't wait until you find out that in Victoria no one is immune, no matter how smug they might be.

Probably the worst part of this arena is that there is no place to walk around the arena. If you want to go around the arena you have to walk down to the glass and bump and grind infront of people exusing yourself as you try and make your way around the arena.
I hate it and won't go back. I know a lot of other people feel this way. Other comments that I have heard is there is no shoulder room, seats are too close together, etc.
A very poorly designed arena. It will never be a successful arena in my opinion.
