This was posted on Vic Weather - about an upcoming power outage for the campus on the 17th Aug.

"UVic is going to experience a long power outage on the 17th of August. We have now been told that this will not affect us. We are not yet convinced.
Our servers will be moving to a new facility between the 22nd and 23rd of August. There will be a disruption in service when this happens."

Anyone know about this, and why it is happening?

There was a power outage a couple of weeks ago, and soon after they announced this. Apparently the power to the campus is inadequate so they are upgrading.

This is a pretty big deal as a lot of sensitive equipment up there doesn't like power spikes or to be started and stopped.
