Unless one is riding their bicycle down the centre aisle at Hillside mall, I am not sure how much social distancing is necessary.
Have you tried riding a bike down the bike lanes on Pandora or Fort?

Not even if Lisa Helps paid me to do it.

What? No one uses bike lanes to they are so crowded to be a problem with social distance in an out door setting..
Most people on bikes are huffing and puffing? Must be unfit from lack of exercise perhaps?

We have started, as have others, to walk on the left side facing traffic when on shared-use pathways, just as we do on roadways without sidewalks.
This reminds me of how BC switched from driving on the left side of the street to the right. Some areas of the province drove on the right and others, like Vancouver Island still drove on the left.
Now we have pedestrians walking on both the right and left side of a trail. Combine that with the patience and grace of much of the bike lobby, what could go wrong?

The City of Victoria is seeking vendors to apply to set up a “coat check” style bike valet service for the summer.
This project is part of the city’s goal to increase sustainable transportation by enhancing bike parking services.

After weathering a surge in demand sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic, a shortage caused by breakdowns in the supply chain and rising prices, local bike shops say they are in good shape as they gear up for the start of the cycling season.
“Demand is still crazy. It was crazy through the pandemic but we learned from that,” said Bill Fry, owner of Trek Bicycle Store Victoria.
“The bicycle industry was already going flat out before the pandemic. Once it hit and gyms closed, bicycle demand just went through the roof.
“At the same time, COVID-19 hit other parts of the world, closing factories and creating backlogs, for which we are still playing catch-up.”

The Salvation Army is inviting the public to the official launch of Wheels for Family Wellness, a bicycle-lending program, where there will be fun activities for children, treats and an area set up for families to test drive the bikes they would like to borrow.
The event takes place at the Next Steps Resource Centre on Saturday.
The program is aimed at helping low-income families to participate in a healthy, outdoor activity without it being a financial strain.

I think it's a good idea. Sad that bikes get stolen absolutely everywhere else downtown even mid-day, but this makes some sense.

If nothing else, I am sure it will cut out the middle man in Victoria's thriving bicycle reallocation program.
It's being run by a bike organization, not Our Place.
