I would love to see a sub forum dealing with the federal election locally.

So start, I thought I would put some threads on each riding.

Victoria will see Denise Savoie running for the NDP and Jack Mcclintock for the Conservatives. I do not know who the Liberal or Green candidates are.

Wasn't there mention of a Dallas-something for Liberal nominee? He's very young, iirc -- the mention came in the papers around the same time that another (local) candidate was being talked about re. his young age. Dallas ...Henault? Yes, it's Dallas Henault (just googled him): his page.

Oops, forget what I posted, above. Looking more closely (as I should have on the first go-round), I see that Mr. Henault is running Provincially, not Federally.

Savoie held on with 44% of the vote. McClintock finished with 28%.

Know it all.

According to today's TC, Christopher Causton, mayor of Oak Bay, is seeking the Liberal nomination for Victoria in the next federal election. Sheila Orr was one of those who signed his nomination papers.
