Absolutely. Pesci's is probably one of the better restaurants in the core. Doesn't matter what you order as you can't go wrong in that place.

Here's a bit of trivia...the ex-wife of Pescatore's owner operates the 5th Street Bar and Grill on Hillside and Fifth Street.

Wow, two good reviews! For some reason I always thought of it as being a tourist place. I never been, perhaps put off by the price (I don't mind paying more if I know I'll get good food and service) and for some reason although that lobby entrance looks nice it gives off a weird unwelcoming vibe. Maybe they need a door person like Earls or Cactus Club, or like most restaurants seem to nowadays.

I had a couple of roommates that worked there. Used to party with the staff. Good food and the kitchen was very organized.

Tip: when at the bar, order a drink with something that's located in a bottle on the highest shelf. Some of the waitresses put on a bit of a gymnastics show to reach the top shelf to piece togethe your order :D

Expansion planned for Pescatores

Darron Kloster, Times Colonist
Published: Wednesday, December 05, 2007

Restaurateur Mike Murphy has plans to add a stand-alone oyster bar and lounge to his popular Pescatores Fish House in the Belmont Building, across from the Fairmont Empress hotel at Humboldt and Government streets.

Murphy confirmed yesterday he has the option to take over the space occupied by Victory Gift -- which is closing and liquidating its stock -- but has no plans to start redevelopment until late next year.

Initial plans are to remove a wall connecting Pescatores and Victory Gift and build a bar to service both places. The two businesses would also share kitchens and restrooms, but have separate entrances and brands, he said.
