No need to be negative, either:

in the form of surface parking

that last one is good.

I thought already that pharmacy upstairs at uptown was slow. now it gets a competitor.

Headline B was “Saanich pocket park to make way for corporate enterprises,” but I wasn’t sure if they’d all be enterprises. We could see a government office in there, like the new Ministry of Social Distancing.

Pretty underwhelming. That corner needs something of prominence, not a low-profile building and a parking lot. That location doesn't need on-site parking given it is at the convergence of multiple bus routes and has plentiful parking within Uptown next door.

Have the plans altered from the "skyscraper" (11 floors I believe) that was envisioned for this location?

At over twice the density I'd have to think so.

Whatever happened to that Fort McMurray based pub/games venue proposal?

Fed up with low wages and high-risk pandemic conditions, janitors at Uptown Shopping Centre have voted to strike.

The group of workers unionized with SEIU Local 2 in June 2020 and since then has been demanding its employer, Everclean Facility Services, provide workers with a living wage and paid sick days. Currently, janitors are paid $15.25 per hour, 65 cents above B.C.’s minimum wage.
