Barry Hobbis is the managing director of Victoria Harbour Ferry and his slate appears to revolve around cleaning up the downtown area.

This guy has my attention - he's already made a 200-day commitment and I like the fact he's been active in the community. He's also been a police officer as well as a business person - not a common combination.

I'm pretty interested in this guy too. I met him last week at the Youth Empowerment Society fundraiser "Souper Bowls" - there were a lot of politicians there, but he seemed to be spending less time campaigning and more time with his wallet open. In fact I wouldn't have known who he was if I wasn't selling raffle tickets to him.

In these troubled financial times, it says something about a person when they are willing to still give to a cause that will help PREVENT people from getting involved in the street scene in the first place. Clearly he is willing to make a personal investment in our community.
