ADVANCE VOTING OPPORTUNITIES

Advance Voting Opportunities are open to electors who expect to be absent from the City of Victoria on general voting day, who are unable to attend a Voting Place on general voting day, or who have a physical disability or is a person whose mobility is impaired. Two advance voting opportunities will be held:

* Wednesday, November 5, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
* Monday, November 10, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Both advance voting opportunities will take place at City Hall, #1 Centennial Square, Victoria, BC.

Advance polls will open today for municipal elections

Advance polls in the municipal election open today for residents who won't be able to vote on Nov. 15.

B.C. law requires that local governments must have at least one advance poll 10 days ahead of election day, but many of the municipalities offer a second advance poll, and citizens should check with their local governments for times and locations of the advance polls. In general, polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hi,
This year you actually don't have to 'prove' that you expect to be absent... absolutely anyone can vote on advance polling days (which is today and Nov 10 in Victoria). If you are working on the 15th, have hockey practice, or just find a weekday more convenient, you can vote during advance voting.
