They have taken quite comprehensive notes of the questions provided at the VCPAC All Candidates Forum's and the candidates responses. There were 2 forums, one to address provincial issues and another to address local issues.

It will be an interesting election tomorrow.

My hope is that the new Greater Victoria School District board consists of:
Starla Anderson, Tamara Malczewska, Catherine Alpha, Peg Orcherton, Mike Hayes, Bev Horseman, Mark Shuler, and possibly Lance Groseth and John Young. Although Bev and Peg have not voted favourably in my opinion in the past I think with other strong trustees beside them they'll stand for all the things they believe in and not be pressured to accept the status quo.

We'll be vote plumping for Starla, Catherine and Tamara in our house though.

Thank you for posting their website, the notes from the meetings is very helpful.

As you know I won't be voting for the same trustees.

I want a pragmatic fiscally responsible board.

I'm vote plumping.

I want a board that will submit a needs budget, fully fund and resource classrooms, address class size and composition in order to meet all student's learning needs, stop the sale of school lands and the privatization of the our public education system....Keep public education PUBLIC.

Ideally, in my opinion and given the candidates running, the new Greater Victoria School Board would consists of:

Mark Shuler

Possibly Lance Groseth and John Young. John Young may be considered a wild card but his votes are without doubt votes I'd want cast. His court case may have been an approach that in some ways backfired but his principles are spot on. He's been standing alone in his battle and he's done a pretty good job of it. Now, with the support of others and a different approach there could be much stronger and effective action. *For the record, VPEC candidates are not aligned with John Young. These are my own thoughts.
