We are starting to see empty retail shops in Victoria and I hope to see new faces in city hall.

That got me thinking, again, that Oak Bay needs a Timmies. There can't be more than three Oak Bay police officers, not having a Timmies there leaves the whole municipality in the hands of the protestors.

It was a young UVic student from the Mainland, a psychology student. Sara(h) someone or other. She said she's selling the car to her relatives as she only has an L license and wants the cash for school.

...not having a Timmies there leaves the whole municipality in the hands of the protestors.
And who then will protect the children from contemporary architecture? The real reason for no Timmies in Oak Bay is that all the locals then would see their "police force" has nothing better to do all day than drink coffee and eat carb-laden, sugary treats.

Someone local rolled the rim last week and won a car.
When I go to have a coffee at Tim Ho's I want it in a real mug, but they give me an empty cup as well just to play the rim up thing. What a waste of trees and all that extra recycling not to mention the added cost of making a cup that I don't need.

I won 6 times this year, one of my best years so far. Granted the winnings were free coffees and muffins but still
Probably consumed fewer coffees this year than in years past too.

In the grand scheme of things, those extra cups really are a drop in the bucket.
You know how much energy is used and ecology is disturbed to bring you a 1/4 carat diamond for your engagement ring? Probably more than producing 10 million Tims cups.

At least it supports the forestry industry.... should make you proud to keep people in the hardest hit (economically) parts of the province buttering their bread.... I personally, like to print emails, and make extra copies of stuff, just to support our provinces economy....

It looks like the cups are made in Cobourg, Ontario, so it might not directly support BC forestry.

That's even worse. Think of all the fuel it took to transport them here, trucks idling at the ferry terminal, the loss of jobs in BC. But then I suppose they could put them in the same truck with the donuts.
Do you think a truck full of donuts would get a police escort?

I despise Tim Horton's for their awful take on coffee, but most of all how EVERYTHING is prepared off-site, par-baked and trucked across the country. This is what Tim's calls it's "Always Fresh" system. You know, because making doughnuts and such from scratch on-site was somehow not at all fresh, but baking stuff 80% of the way, freezing it, shipping it across the country and reheating it is.
Their marketing VP must be a huge fan of GBS's 1984. "I'd like two dozen 'Always Fresh' doughnuts to the Ministry of Love, please!"

I agree. Their coffee is terrible and their baked goods taste like cardboard.I despise Tim Horton's for their awful take on coffee, but most of all how EVERYTHING is prepared off-site, par-baked and trucked across the country. Do you remember, in the Before Days, the variety of doughnuts and Timbits you could get from Tim's? Try going in there now and ordering a raspberry or straberry filled powedered doughnut. They do not exist (just Timbits).
Now, you can choose from a variety of like six different kinds, plus whatever seasonal crap they have. They're coffee tastes like someone took mouldy a$$ and steeped it in hot water.
