canada doesn't have a roller mill so if a brewery uses cans they have to be imported, usually from the US, in which case there are tariffs to deal with also

VIB outsourced brewing to Phillips.

but they were only using about half their capacity, which was an issue specific only to VIB

Phillips is probably way larger than you think and it’s employee owned.

Yes, after being acquired by an Ontario brewer, their brewery shut down.

Moosehead's iconic green bottles the latest casualty as cans crush the competition

It's not the Moosehead that is the problem in Mike's world.

I think Moosehead maybe gets a blue collar rep and it’s not microbrew which takes it down another notch maybe.

I always liked a nice cold Labatt blue when I was younger.

They know what it's like to have the courage to turn obstacles into opportunities, and the passion that makes a hard day’s work so rewarding.

i actually had a blue recently for the first time in ages & it was great, if only because it was totally different from my usual go-tos. i also tried driftwood's lager which is at the crisp & dry end of the scale, similar to blue but definitely with different hops. I can't remember when I last had a moosehead, I should give that a go just for kicks, if I can find it in a single can.

I think I've had a few Mooseheads in the past 10 or 15 years.  Mostly when going to a new or unfamiliar place and it's the first recognizable one I see on tap.

Doing nothing is how you get the courage to turn obstacles into opportunities.

That's Moosehead's motto.

i couldn't remember if it was keith's or moosehead that released the presidential pack, containing 1 can for each day of trump's presidency. i can't imagine it would be very good after 3 years, even if stored properly (ie cold) the whole time. i suppose there would be more than enough to share:

You appear to lack the courage to turn obstacles into opportunities.
