Baseball related but off topic (no sense starting a new thread)
Game six of the world series Thursday was the best baseball game ever. The St. Louis Cardinals were one strike away from loosing the series to Texas. Bottom of the ninth, two out, two strikes, down by two runs.....and they tie it up for extra innings.
Texas gets two runs in the top of the tenth. Bottom of the tenth Cardinals again two out, and they tie it up again.
Texas no score in the top of the eleventh and the Cardinals homer in the bottom of the eleventh to force a game 7.
Cardinals won last night to take the series.
Priceless.

I didn't see any of the games but I was listening to them as much as I could on ESPN radio's website. It was a good series. I felt like game 7 was a huge anticlimax, however.
Speaking of game 6, audio-only can be a really exciting way to take in a baseball game. I remember when Kelly Gruber was robbed of his triple play out back in the series against Atlanta. I think it was CBS radio that produced the broadcast? Anyway, the way they had miked it, it just sounded like sheer bedlam (I was working at the time in a rather large space so that may have been part of the reason). It sounded like a sports moment for the ages. I remember dashing back to UVic for a class that night and asking everyone what the hell had happened.
