Public Art - Do you like it? e.g. Arena or Bastion Sq.?

Do you know what would really brighten up that dingy part of the city - about 5000-10,000 new residents. Alas, I fear it won't look much different in 20 years time, except of course the murals will have faded.

Damn straight that cement wall has been there since the beginning of time it’s a natural beauty....
I become more convinced each day that all the crazy in the world eventually makes its way to southern Vancouver Island.
...Woodland is concerned that the piece will distract from nature. “It would provide a visual gravitational pull away from the rich world it occupies, and hold attention on a myth that has no meaning in this culture and a visual form that dispossess the creatures who live there...“I am exploring the prospect of proposing that this micro-bay in Oak Bay be designated a Natural Heritage site and protected and preserved as a rare example of a small bit of urban wild coast...

1932- Council was facing the growing problem of providing work to prevent people from starving and it was decided to utilize an amount of $15,000 set aside some years before for construction of a seawall across Oak Bay waterfront and proceed with the project at this time. Relief workers were to be paid at the rate of $3.50 per day; former regular employees to get $3.75 and $4.00 as previously. Future pay for newly hired regular workers to be $3.50 per day. This work was completed before the end of the year and did not exceed the amount which had been appropriated.

So we're talking a bronze statue of an octo-maiden on one of the rocks near the shore? Is that right?

Hadn’t looked into exactly what statue they’re putting there until now but yes it appears that way.

His portfolio consists of a lot of huge sand castle art and bronze sculptures with sea creatures and maidens. It's not top tier stuff.

Is there some sort of scale that shows the tiers?

It's a sliding scale. Top tier here is second tier in Toronto; third tier in New York.

As silly as that might sound, in recent months he's been outperforming my tech stocks by a wide margin.

It's a sliding scale.
I think I get it now. Some sea creatures have scales and some sea creatures have slime. The slime is what makes them slide. And the scale is what they weigh them with over at the fish market.

if you put a dispossessed creature on the scale the reading might not be accurate though.
That’s OK still have some holiday weight.
