I wish I had a photo of the untouched building but I noticed today that D'Ambrosio has designed a new skin for the the Vital Statistics Building on Fort Street. It looks infinitely better than the original design. All that's visible at the moment is the glass wrap on the upper floors (I'm a sucker for ribbon windows). I wonder what's planned for the street frontage?

That's a slick little building. It does a good job of breaking up some of the schlock on that stretch of Fort St.

The only thing left on the wishlist for the building is a faster elevator. With the old one, it would have been faster to plant a tree under your shoes.
