Thanks to Mike K for allowing this post, and for running the advert on the VV website. It is wonderful to have the VV owners and online community supporting Arts in Victoria, and especially this special event.

The Festival in now in its 4th year and attracts Baroque enthusiasts, and anyone looking to experience an incredible concert series, featuring some of Canada's most exceptional artists.

Jo-Ann Roberts of CBC Radio One (All Points West) is hosting pre-concert discussions on the Friday and Saturday Concerts
Phillip's Brewery is providing beer tastings during intermission.

The Pacific Baroque Festival 2009 - "Handel in London" - Celebrating the 250 year legacy of George Frideric Handel.

Friday February 6th 8pm Alix Goolden Hall
Purcell, Handel & Haydn

Pre-concert discussion hosted by Jo-Ann Roberts, "All Points West" CBC Radio One Victoria at 7:15pm.
A performance to celebrate the anniversaries of these three greats.

Saturday February 7th 8pm Alix Goolden Hall
Handel & the Duke of Chandos

Pre-concert discussion hosted by Jo-Ann Roberts, "All Points West" CBC Radio One Victoria with Marc Destrubé (violin) and Madeleine Humer (Victoria Children's Choir) at 7:15pm

A reflection on Handel's musical relationship with the Duke of Chandos. Includes performance of Chandos Anthem "Let God Arise" and Coronation anthem "Let Thy hand be strengthened"

Choral Evensong


At Christ Church Cathedral featuring music of Handel's contemporaries - Free to Public

Grant Kerr has done a great article on the Victoria Children's Choir, and the Pacific Baroque Festival in this week's edition. (Monday Mag)

I am doing photos at the rehearsals and let me tell you the combination of a truly professional, experienced and intuitive orchestra, with these 'gung ho' kids is inspiring...

everyone should see this.

What are the ticket prices, mat? I missed that on the poster... (The Christ Church/ last event is free, right?, but what about Alix Goolden?)
When you buy a game, you buy the rules. Play happens in the space between the rules.

Ms B - Friday and Saturday night are $35 for adults, or $55 for both concerts.
