Grand Opening resulted in about 2000 people showing up. Weather held off and it was well received.

2000 people showed up? Methinks that is a bit of an exaggeration? I love this project but really now. 2000 people??

I can for sure say that they went through 500 hot dogs and 500 hamburgers. Many people didn't wait to eat or eat at all, the line was pretty big. Maybe 2000 was a little high, but well over 1000 and I would say that is a safe estimate erring on much more, but I can see why it might be hard to believe.
Thats a lot of hot dogs and hamburgers but then free food is always an attraction. Any property sales?

Worth checking out if you are out that way. They even have a whale watching business operating right off of their docks. We are booked for next weekend and the kids are super excited!!

So question for Marko or anyone else who knows - Is there any legal requirement for the builder to finish out a development or building to any certain degree? Or will Mariners village become the next Aquattro?

I have some friends who made the unfortunate decision to purchase in this building and were among some of the first people to occupy it. While the location is nice (if you don't mind the commute from Sooke), and some of the features are very nice and high end, it seems the developer has lost interest in finishing out their building, as the decks and storage areas (among more) have been sitting idle and unfinished for over a year now to the great frustration of many owners.

I am sure that the developer did not 'lose interest'. Most developers are losing their shirts.

How did the building get occupancy if the decks are unfinished? Inspectors are fairly anal about the deck membrane, railings, etc.
Regarding storage areas the owners need to look to the disclosure statement that they received and had 7 days to review when they purchased. A large portion of buyers never read the disclosure statement.
If the developer is not providing something that is stated in the disclosure statement I think they would have a case.

Doesn't matter if you are losing your shirt or not, as a developer you still have obligations.
