Yeah, it'll be a while before it re-opens. The fire was caused by a stove.
Know it all.

Walked past the corner unit at Westside Village, looks like the new Browns is under construction. There is a fence up and the windows are papered off. Finally a good spot ( besides MUW and Spins) to have a bite and a beer in VicWest.....They will get some crazy exposure being on that busy corner....

It is directly on the corner of Bay and Tyee. I think the TD bank used to be in that location. Guessing it will be open by summer

Yeah, that's been sitting empty with nothing in it for years and years. The Bank moved out of it at least 5 years ago.
That will make the 4th BROWN's in Victoria. They must really like it here.

Keep forgetting that one!
I like the Uptown location, frequent it with the wife on Fridays. It has a different vibe than the DT location. I have never been to the Langford location.
Rumor has it, this new location is a Browns Crafthouse. I googled it and looks like its a new concept for Browns, not sure what the difference is. Google shows a new Crafthouse just opened in Vancouver. Anyway, VicWest needs something, hope this fills the void.!

Explain Crafthouse? does that mean they will have a brewery on sight?

From the looks of the Crafthouse in Vancouver, I would summize " Craft" means they have lots of craft beer on tap! Kinda of like " public house" or " tap house" , just part of a catchy name.

I think pub and restaurant owners just like adding the word "House" to their places now. Burger house, steak house, desert house, pancake house, etc But the ironic part is none of them are "houses" LOL. Pubs originally housed people way back in the day, where you could eat and drink downstairs, and sleep upstairs and then carry on your travels the next day. But not anymore.

Literally every pub in this town is connected to a hotel:*
- Swans
- Churchill
- Garricks
- Taphouse (was a hotel, now it's apartments)
- Q Lounge at the Empress
- Lure
- Sticky Wicket
- Games Room
- That Place In the Magnolia Hotel
- Browns
- Shark Club
- Clive's
- Bartholomew's
- Upper Deck
- Veneto
- Smith's
- The Place Above Smiths
- Spinnaker's (adjacent B&B)
*well ok, not every pub, but you get the picture.
