Vancouver based Fresh Slice Pizza, which is already in Langford, is opening it’s first downtown Victoria location on Douglas Street next to Gala Fabrics...

Vancouver based Fresh Slice Pizza

The creativity and determination of Ray’s vision designed and built a revolutionary system for making multigrain dough that saves 800% on labor cost.

i'm not even sure how to do that math.  if my pizza dough costs about $1.50 in labour (just making up a number) what does his cost?  negative $10.50?

Based on the above, does Fresh Slice pay its customers to eat their pizza?

i suppose you could make that dough 800% faster.  thus save some labour costs.

these pizza robots are not all that impressive.

I went to a place in Palm Springs that was basically a Subway, but for pizzas. The pizza wasn't the greatest, but a pretty cool concept nonetheless. They used a machine to stretch the pizza dough. It was really fast - maybe 10-15 seconds?

Firecrust is a chain in Vancouver and Alberta like that. Hand pulled dough, though.

Dominos does hand pulled dough, from what I've seen. What's the big deal, it doesn't seem like it'd be better or worse?

Ba Le sandwiches is now open on Fort, and sold out of Bahn Mi before I could eat it! Nice lineup out the door yesterday. There is definite demand for fresh sandwiches that aren't $14 or Subway.

I've been wanting to try them, but they've been sold out each time I've tried to go. That fact led me to discover Alysa's Pho and Banh Mi in Quadra Village though, which is pretty solid.

My two TFW’s had their visas approved yesterday, once they get their passports back they can book flights. Great news, though not technically Victoria I’m still in the CRD. :)

Cosmo seems to have connections among several. He is to restaurants what Ted McGinley was to '80s TV.
