I can't say I am surprised about the first. Dobo Sala likely relies heavily on the downtown business crowd for lunch sales and that simply isn't there. I am surprised the vast number of cyclists who travel along Pandora all day haven't been enough to keep DS in the black.

The Fit Fix website says they have moved 2 doors down.

So Ruth and Dean closed their spot and Fit fix is moving in. R&D took over the bakery in Estevan village a while ago so this looks like a consolidation for them.

If you are in to the food and fitness scene (and lots of people are, particularly the younger folk who live downtown), it is not odd at all - it is awesome.

Very sad to see that the Swiss Bistro in Sidney has closed for good. Another restaurant will be opening in the space soon according to the sign.

Something called Mominoodle is opening next to the new Dumpling Drop space on lower Pandora according to a sign on the door. Big change over in the building in the last year. Mole, Cafe Bliss, and the Curiosity Shop all closed. Dumpling Drop, Mominoodle, and LABS (some vacation rental company of some sort) have replaced them.

There's a for lease sign at Cup of Joe Cafe in the strip mall at Simcoe and Menzies in James Bay. I'm pretty bummed about this one - they'd become a favourite secret hole-in-the-wall breakfast/lunch place since I discovered them in the fall.

Ah bummer. I used to frequent that place when I lived in the neighborhood, and make the occasional breakfast stop since moving. It's changed over the years but still has that local charm, plus the good food.

Huh, had no idea that existed either. Looks like its right beside that very meh Purple Garden buffet restaurant. Definitely looks like it caters to asians, mainly Chinese.
