MOMO Sushi To Go, that odd house across from the police station and curling club.

$150,000

1921 Quadra St

The fully vented kitchen is well laid out and can produce high volumes during peak times. Busy, high traffic area in surrounding area. Financial statement and lease agreement is available. The sale includes all the equipment. Low rent & high potential Japanese food restaurant. Just walk into the turn-key business and start making money business.

Google Street View tells us since 2009 that unit has been known as Bagel Queen Bakery and Cafe, Georgie's Cafe, and the Plowshare Cafe.

^Right, so coming soon to Tuscany Village we got Popeye's, Papa John's Pizza and a pot store. Might as well open a UVic satellite campus there too, because what else does a student need.

It’s been underway for a while, no? This fall sometime is my guess.

Know it all.

There's a hiring sign posted on their window, so I'm guessing next month?

New signage went up at the old Floyd's location downtown. Restaurant called The Poke Lounge.

Bakeology Cafe at Gorge and Tillicum is closing, citing many issues including Covid and the related inability to retain staff.

This surprises me. Seems busy whenever I’m by there. Has a pretty stable clientele with the care home there. Have to think it’s a nicer place to work than many others. Maybe the pay sucks….

Yah, might not be worth it to pay everyone $25, if the owner would end up working for free. Might as well just close and get a job and let someone else deal with all the hassles of owning.

The sad thing is that cafe was beside the Amica old folk's home so it was a great opportunity for those residents heavily reliant on caregivers to go "out" and have a treat without really going out.

Can't imagine the care home residents or staff were a big supply of customers. The residents have food and snacks included. Staff are likely able to grab some of this too. Sure not same quality as Bakeology but free.

Also how long iluka espresso will survive, hidden inside an apt complex (across the Gorge from Bakeology). At least they do likely get a steady stream of customers from the apts. But the owners compared the Gorge to an Australian beach town. Yeah, they are so similar. /s

Oh, I never thought it was any sort of reliable revenue stream. Just a nice escape for those oldsters that can no longer head out for a coffee the way we take for granted.

Chiba Sushi has opened on Quadra across from Fairway. The old Stampers location.

Based on the proximity, I’m guessing that’s a relocation from their long-time Hillside/Government space. Has something else gone in there?
