I think I can count at least 27 stalls in the photo.

The DRA has submitted a letter opposing plans by the Toptable group to extend opening hours to 2 am for their planned restaurant at the 1515 Douglas St building:

The DRA seems to really misunderstand downtown.

And top table isn’t know for being a late night party spot. Geez. It’s like DRA would rather live in a suburb

I feel like I’ve been waiting for this restaurant to open for years now.

I don’t like it when the detractors weigh into the potential economics or business case. “We are not sure if this upscale space will find enough support”. So what. None of your business.

We have, for sure. The building was completed in 2018, and I think there was an expectation to have the restaurant open that same year.

Their storefront is completely papered over. It’s possible that they are renovating, I guess, but I am not sure how likely that is given that the eatery has been open less than two years.

I went by to check it out today. There is a printed letter on the front door that says “notice to quit”, something about a lease not renewed I think. Maybe they will move.

Sysco emailed, after cut off time, telling me they had enough canola jugs in Victoria and Vancouver for todays and tomorrows orders and then nada. I’m sure there are smaller jugs etc available but it’s a knock on effect. Can’t get the 16l jugs for the fryer? I’ll take the 4l, and soon they will be out as well.

Sheesh.

Yes, they won’t compromise quality and use frozen chicken, which is readily available.
