"A maintenance issue"? That's rather cryptic.

An outstanding opportunity to take over one of Sidney's favorite restaurants. This restaurant has been serving Sidney and the Penninsula for over a decade & is located right in the center of town on Beacon Ave.The space has great street frontage & a street-front patio that sits 20 people. This wonderfully located space also benefits from a covered breezeway which is shared with great local & independent businesses.A large rear parking lot makes the restaurant easily accessible for pick & delivery as well as free street-front parking directly in front of the business. The interior boasts over 50 seats & is centered around the open-plan kitchen & wood-fired oven. Walk-in cooler & prep space as well as dry storage in the loft area. There is a huge upside as this business concept is perfect for delivery but has only ever offered pick-up services & there is a huge demand for their product to be delivered. A food primary liquor license is in place & can be transferred to the next operator. Easy to show, call for a viewing appointment and more details.

A note on the door says COVID, costs and staff shortages did the restaurant in after 35 years of business.

Matt just texted me to say the Hillside Boston Pizza has closed.
A note on the door says COVID, costs and staff shortages did the restaurant in after 35 years of business.
I remember when that opened, it was a big deal.
Was there also one at Pandora and Broad once?

I wonder how the location at Saanich Plaza is doing? Even before the plague I don't remember it being very busy.

No, the Canadian one owned by Cara.
Harvey's is a fast food restaurant chain operating in Canada, with locations in every province. It serves hamburgers, poutine, hot dogs, french fries, onion rings, and other traditional Canadian fast-food fare. The chain is owned by Recipe Unlimited (previously known as Cara Operations).
Harvey's is the fourth largest burger chain in Canada. Opened in 1959, Harvey's is one of Canada's longest-standing Canadian owned and operated restaurants. Harvey's is known for its grilled burgers and for providing customers with the choice of various toppings.

I occasionally ate at the Boston Pizza on Hillside. I stopped going because Romeo’s pizza and pasta tasted better and was priced better as well…

^Just the one now, right? Maybe? The University Heights one closed, I think?...
The UH location closed well ahead of the plague. Allegedly, an Asian cuisine restaurant was supposed to open in this space, but AFAIK, nothing more than signage outside ever happened.

It seems Saskatchewan may have the only 2 remaining Fuddruckers in Canada.

Sad to see that go, had some memorable afternoons in there. Jeremy the owner deserves a medal for the hard work put into that place.
Maybe Matt will buy it and get it back on its feet.
