Does anyone know what's going on with Point Ellice House? Website no working, only an answering machine message.
Sent visitors there yesterday - as their machine message said they were open - only to be faced with a locked gate.

The last I heard, Capital Mental Health Association operates it now. They were helping people with mental disabilities run it.

It was really good and it was only 16 dollars last time I went which is a deal. Of course you need a warm day as they have it on the back lawn.

Maybe they aren't open until the 15th?
I hope everything is a go. Quite enjoy going there.

They are open only very limited hours during the off-season (i.e. when the tourists aren't here). I don't know when they will be switching to summer hours.
While they were operated by the CMHA for a number of years, they have recently re-formed under a new society formed specifically to manage the facility. Thanks to the province off-loading of a number of heritage properties, each of them now need to be financially self-sufficient, which can be a real challenge when - in this case - your only income is from entry fees and teas.
