Councillor T-J is likely done. But imagine the heartache of quitting the oversight of an event that you became known for, in your last year serving your community? It also sounded like the mayor was quite dismissive of TJ’s role, making a comment akin to ‘did council even appoint you?’ when T-J said she would be stepping down from her role.

Know it all.

Sad to lose CTJ just as she was finally getting red-pilled. She will make room for more TV like councillors.

I have disagreed with many of her decisions, but CTJ is very admirable for her dedication and her heartfelt convictions.  It must be very upsetting to see the true nature of some people that she tried to show respect to and honestly engage with on a regular basis.

The Westshore is indeed on the cusp of assuming its rightful position as the leading community on the South Island (if it hasn't already).

Which is why you have the Capital Daily with a goal of trying to tear down the fabric of the Westshore.

It’s a start to make up for what was lost. The City of Victoria may not be hosting Canada Day fireworks in 2022, but the HarbourCats will once again light the skies with their eve-of-Canada Day ritual.

“Fireworks, after our June 30 game, is a tradition for us,” said Swanson. “Royal Athletic Park has not been very busy the past two years. We are excited to be back to animate what is a big civic facility and asset.”

As long as we get a firework show at least once a year I don’t really care

Myself I don’t think we should have any themed statutory holidays anymore. Maybe we just get the last Monday of every month off? Use it as you see fit
