Not sure if there is interest but thought I would start the thread and see...

I will do the occasional metal detecting and so far have yet to recoup the cost on the device 18 years after purchase, but it is fun.

Anyways I came across the legend and wondered if anyone has heard it before and knows of anything useful about it.

Also would like to know if anyone has hiked to the Jordan Meadows that are discussed and how long a hike it is from Leechtown.

Anyways read about it here.

Would love to hear other stories about the area too!

Last year I read "1421: The Year China Discovered America", by Gavin Menzies. I believe he has a second volume out now, but I'm not sure.

Speculation in the book was the Chinese fleet, or part of it, that 'might' have circumnavigated the Pacific, would have landed on Vancouver Island, and maybe stayed for a period of years.

The story you linked about the tunnel mentioned the galleries appeared oriental in design. Love to know more about the TC sponsored search in the '50's and if anyone else has looked for the entrance more recently.

I've always wanted to be one of those guys that combs beaches with a metal detector but I'm afraid I'll end up being one of those guys that combs beaches with a metal detector.
