Soup is salty? I guess it depends how it's made. I put very little salt in soup making it from scratch.

As for beer, I grew up thinking the lite part meant it was like diet coke, less or no calories 🤪

Reducing alcohol content is how they reduce the calories, or so I thought.

It usually is. Ethyl alcohol is about 7 calories per gram.

Having seen lots of chicken eggs fresh from the bird, I can tell you that they surely do wash eggs in Europe, at least in France.

cancer class?!???!

My guess is it's a biology class in oncology? "Cancer class" is a funny way to put it though.

Matt.

I've picked eggs at chicken farms. Most eggs do not need to be washed, in my experience. A few will have some **** or blood, but its probably >5%.

Costco just installed 6 self checkouts on Monday this week.

I was wondering when this would happen.   Perfect for when you pop in to buy just a few items.

Also perfect for people who borrow their friend's membership card from time to time...

Yeah I used to get suckered in by this line too, as in "come on honey we'll stop in quickly for just a few items". And without fail it seems we drop $200 minimum, usually more, each time we/I get pulled into that black retail vortex. Never fails. Every. Single. Time. :)

We called it the "$100 store" when we first got a membership years ago. Then it became the "$200 store". Now it's the "$300 store". It's inflation, I guess.

You go in ostensibly to buy some cheese and milk, and come out with a pressure-washer, 10 kg. of ju-jubes and a set of new tires. You forget the cheese and eggs, but the lineup is too long to go back.

Lol. A canister recently told me their average transaction is about $300 now.

Talking canisters? I know I haven't been to Costco in a while, but they've really made some changes.

I never got the appeal of self-checkout. Why should I do a cashier's job for free while the company fires them and keeps the money they would have been paid? I don't run into the garage at Canadian Tire and change my own oil and replace the washer fluid then go pay them for what I used.

But you pump your own gas and cook your own meals. Isn’t that taking away work from gas jockeys and cooks at restaurants?
