I take the bus all the time! Beleive it or not I'm only 16! I am looking strongly into my future and see myself being either a pilot or an architect.
What'd you guys think? Any of you have experiance as either?

I disagree.
A real bus depot should be closest to the largest amount of people. The depot in its current location is there for tourists not locals. A terminal farther north is more central and easier to reach by the vast majority of those in the Capital region.
Also bus depots should not be in the centre of tourists districts. Vanouver's is much farther a walk from Robson and say Canada Place than from the Inner Harbour to Discovery Street. I am sure we can count on tourist buses to still hang out in front of the Empress for rides to Butchart.
I still think that the lot across from the Times Colonist would have been preferable but that is even farther north.
Has anyone walked around this part of town? It is a **** hole and this will be a vast improvement on what is currently there. If there are so many people lining up to build condos here than where are they? Right now this area is industrial and it will be a long time before developers see any chance of making money anywhere near here.
In addition a Bus terminal is not going to necessarily stop people from living there. Our current location is metres from the most expensive hotel in the city and across from another motel that I have only heard good reviews for.
I agree that the area across from the Times Colonist is horrible and depressing (see picture of the lot below).
It's not a bad location for a bus terminal, but the advantage of having a terminal right downtown is that locals can then hop on a city bus which will bring them home. Otherwise in a lot of cases it will mean taking a city bus downtown and then catching another bus from downtown.
Welcome Ben. Don't you ever aspire to be a government bureaucrat...?

No, I don't aspire to be anything government, because one of the most needed characteristics of that job is to be a good liar, and that I am not.

I am going to take a long shot and go with lot 2001 - 2021 Douglas Street. That is the former H&R Block building. Now a 10 - 12 storey office with ground floor retail would be just what is needed. Across the street is a fairly decent retail strip that shouldn't be mowed until some other stuff is developed first.
Too bad Asfar is so set on a Casino. A nice hotel/residential development on his properties along Douglas would be amazing and the city would stop fighting him in court.

Sorry I was away for a while - lots of tests in school right now!
Well, seeing that picture, I see a possible huge development. Those lots can be transformed to high-end hotels and apartments. If cleaned up right, that could be like the hotel district in south downtown (The Belvedere, Astoria, Chateau Victoria, etc). It has a view of the harbor, and if building high enough (and slender enough) it could get a view of the olympic mountains to the south and Mt Doug and the malahat to the North.
