^ It's views like this that make me very curious about how HP2 will turn out, since the plans seem to indicate that it is the exact same height as HP1 minus the crown... is Victoria going to end up with twin towers?

Victoria is already getting twin towers with Yates on Yates and Vivid.

I won't be surprised if the second tall tower detracts from HP1 from many angles, where the two buildings appear to be merged together as one big thing. But from other angles where there will be a bit of separation it might end up looking better than now because HP1 will seem not so lonely... assuming the second building is worth looking at.
I still think the Promontory esthetic would look sharp in that part of town.

HP-1 should have been a few floors taller and HP-2 should be a few floors shorter; same density overall but with more variation.

Spotted two 1-beds for rent in the building... one seems to be an east-facing low floor unit, asking $1700. The other is a 14th unit with unknown orientation, asking $2100.
Pretty sure the latter has been in the market for months, though.

The skyline is looking great looking south from up Douglas or Blanshard Streets or from Uptown or atop Christmas Hill. I love catching a double decker into downtown along Douglas and always make sure to sit at the front on top to enjoy the views. I can only hope that the Gateway Green site or some of the lots across Blanshard from HP2 get redeveloped with a few taller towers or else the towers might look a bit out of place.

Taller, quality towers, like HP-1, are now needed in the vicinity of Yates-on-Yates and Vivid to help obscure their towering blandness. Perhaps the Harris Green redevelopment will help.

Will residents begin moving in this week?

I am loving the nightly light show at HP-1. I do hope they'll change up the colours though. It's been the same blue theme for multiple evenings now.

Can I just say I like spotting out this building every time I look out the window? It's nice to have something that sticks out in the skyline in a good way.
