The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has stripped Schindler's List of its Best Motion Picture award for not having enough LGBTQ+ characters, people of color, and other oppressed groups.
"Schindler's List would have been a great movie if it just had a dozen transgendered characters," said Le'Jon de Froofroo, spokesperson for the Academy. "As it is, there are just a bunch of Jews and Germans -- very privileged races."

This is just the first Oscar winner to be stripped of its award, as the Academy has plans to strip the award from over 95% of the winners and give them all to Brokeback Mountain.

Preemptive post about internet satire websites
What is The Babylon Bee?
The Babylon Bee is the world’s best satire site, totally inerrant in all its truth claims. We write satire about Christian stuff, political stuff, and everyday life.
The Babylon Bee was created ex nihilo on the eighth day of the creation week, exactly 6,000 years ago. We have been the premier news source through every major world event, from the Tower of Babel and the Exodus to the Reformation and the War of 1812. We focus on just the facts, leaving spin and bias to other news sites like CNN and Fox News.
If you would like to complain about something on our site, take it up with God.

I was just reminded of the time six years ago when a guy visiting from Arizona was telling me he had a great day biking--made it all the way to Gracepoint. I had to tell him it was a left over movie sign.

this is brand new on netflix the other day.
American Murder: Netflix documentary leaves users disturbed – 'It's the hardest thing I've ever watched'
‘Feel physically sick,’ one shocked viewer wrote

Film industry is dead. The future is the testing industry. Someone is making A LOT of money. It's ok our kids are paying for all this, and their kids and their kids after them. What have we spent so far? Anyone keeping a running tally?
now what i found very interesting. this new documentary was very good. i could not stop watching.
but the entire thing has no narration.
it has no new footage filmed exclusively for the film. except maybe some "establishing shots" that quite frankly could have been stock footage too.
but the entire documentary was put together with:
- tv news clips
- social media posts
- text messages among the victims and suspects and others
- police interviews
- police body cam footage
again no narration whatsoever. yet it's incredibly easy to follow and understand.
so what i'm saying is here is a very compelling documentary put together completely in an editing booth. no studio or soundstage or actors or presenters or filming or even voice-over required.

Cineworld is shuttering all 543 of its Regal Cinema venues in the U.S. and all cinemas across the U.K. and Ireland this coming week, just a day after James Bond film “No Time to Die” was pushed to April 2021.
Variety understands from sources that the chain will close all sites in both countries as early as this week, with staff notified ahead of Monday. Regal is the second largest domestic chain in the U.S., while Cineworld is the U.K.’s biggest cinema operator.
In the U.K., Cineworld, which declined to comment, is understood to be writing to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden this weekend to explain that the exhibition sector is “unviable” due to studios delaying tentpoles as a result of anxious audiences steering clear of cinemas amid the global pandemic. The Cineworld closures will put up to 5,500 jobs at risk in the U.K.

that's a tough situation. understandably the studio wants to delay in case audiences are still scared - and they stand to lose millions on a film that would normally be a lock. on the other hand delaying these blockbusters might kill at least some theatres for good.

“Wonder Woman 1984” is no one-off.
Warner Bros. says it will release its new movies in theaters and on HBO Max at the same time for the next year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has turned the traditional film distribution business upside down.
AT&T Inc.-owned Warner Bros. said the plan was temporary and did not represent a new business model.
