Just charge a hundred a month for overnight street parking and that will solve the problem and get the city lots of revenue.

Used the View Street parkade today.
Best thing to ever happen to parkades is the pay by app or card. Entry and exit was a breeze when it used to be utterly painful.
Priceless. Well done.

Thanks Sparky,
As with any change some people love it and some loathe it. Vehicle movement is certainly easier and if one is comfy with the app then everything is beautiful. We do have some issues with our older pay stations but looking to solve that at some point in 2023.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see the change at View st parkade recently. Made parking a breeze compared to what it used to be.

Again nice to hear, people don't usually write Mayor and Council about positive changes. I'm not suggesting anyone does this, I get my mom to write about 10 compliments a day about Parking Services...

It’s adjacent to her home, a multifamily building, in front of a single family home. Nicole Canuel used to park there, but constant hand-written notes and parking tickets created enough stress that she avoided it for more than a year.
In early 2021, she received several tickets while parked in front of the house next door.

In those spaces residents with stickers can park for up to 24 hours.
No one can park longer than that.
For Canuel, the stress of parking is just another thing piled on to other barriers to consider when looking at staying in Greater Victoria – or leaving for a more affordable city.
Maybe she should not have rented a place with no parking. Residents of Richmond / Allenby will soon agree.

Maybe it is time for the city to charge for all street parking on every street in the city. At least charge for overnight parking. Maybe 200 a month.

Did Stirling really expect anything better considering the makeup of 2/3 of the new council? I imagine there will be a lot more "hold my beer" moments from this council before the end their term. We may even look back at the Helps/Isitt years as the good old days.

He was a fool for trusting Lisa Helps' protégé to do the right thing.

This RV thing is out of hand. We had an armada of them show up in COVID times and they move from spot to spot, illegally parking all over the place. And trouble somehow finds or follows the occupants so often.

A giant three-axle old RV was towed to Catherine Street in Vic West over the weekend where it immediately drew a police presence, who were there talking to the occupants or owners. Anyways, last night it went up in flames, fire started on the inside some time overnight.

One less to worry about I guess...
