The installation of the downtown toilet is underway.

There is a bunch of equipment that goes into the cavity at the back that was not in place. Unless they had to take it all out.

It sure looked like they were just installing it.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this outside the old Empire theatre a couple of weeks ago. Nice job to empty that huh?

Was told the batteries were dead in the air freshener in our men's room, went in to change them only to find that someone had stolen them.  Two used AA batteries, stolen from my bathroom.  Gotta lock everything up.  :(

Matt.

They installed pay toilets in downtown San Francisco years ago. They closed them because hookers were using them for short-times. True!

The empire theater is pretty gross, it was a lesson in how not to design a building. Hopefully it gets redeveloped soon and can become a anchor to that area.

I've seen pretty gross acts in that area that include both females and males both homeless and not. lets just say its not safe for a public forum.

It's almost the entire manual on how NOT to design the ground level of a building in the downtown core of a city. Of course it's barely 3 floors tall, aka "human scale", so it's pretty much perfect in the eyes of many locals.  :whyme:

Instead we get some fatscraper monstrosity behind it rather than a merging of the lots into an incredible development with some great public spaces.

Don't worry, the low speed limits will have it cleaned up in a jiffy!

I saw a guy taking a dump in the parking lot behind some parked cars in broad daylight.

*Edit: By the parking lot I meant the parking lot behind Capitol 6.

Just one part of a human-scale, active, healthy, vibrant, livable urban environment!

Saw a guy peeing there in broad daylight. Just shipped it out right in front of passerby's. No worries. No concerns. This is Victoria, dude.

This was way worse my friend, and it wasn't actually a homeless person...

I remember when I used to go behind a tree in the forest and the crows would go caw-caw...caw-caw.

Oh I know, I see it all on that property.

What's worse is they can't block off the southern enclaves because that would present a fire hazard in the event of people needing to use the emergency exits. The building code actually restricts them from keeping the nonsense off their property.

I look down at the filth and crap going on there every day. It's disgusting. It's a nuisance. But this is Victoria, dude.
