It's probably just a coincidence. Victoria doesn't get around to things this quickly on a Sunday unless they involve removing statues.

On March 2nd 2020, shortly after 4:00am, the West Shore RCMP responded to a work place incident involving the death of an employee at Sysco Victoria Inc. located at 2881 Amy Road in Langford, BC.
Initial reports indicate that a 25 year old male was hit by a semi tractor trailer at this location and succumbed to his injuries.
Police are in the very early stages of this investigation. The identity of the deceased will not be released at this time. The West Shore RCMP remains on scene and continues their investigation alongside WorkSafe BC and the BC Coroners Service. As this investigation is ongoing we are unable to share additional details at this time.

that's very sad. it probably took a series of events for that to happen. slip and fall or just being between the trailer and loading dock lift ramp/wall/bumpers etc.
25-year-old guy. probably had the tools to escape serious injury 99 times out of 100.

Major accident in Duncan along the TCH. A chopper will be landing between the Thrifty’s and the forestry museum.
Reports are that it wasn’t a car accident, but rather a severe workplace accident at one of the car dealerships along the highway. Not often you see that.

Something about a person being crushed. Could that mean a vehicle on a lift fell over? That’s a nightmare scenario.

I always set the car on stands and leave the wheels under it. There's no reason anyone should be getting crushed by their car while working on it unless someone else hits it and it shifts off the stands.

well often a person does not use stands. they just have it up on a jack or two.
