On February 8th 2021, at approximately 9:56 p.m. the West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a collision near the 2300 block of Selwyn Drive in Langford.
Officers arrived on scene and determined that a 2015 Fiat 500 was travelling at a high rate of speed collided with two parked vehicles. One of the vehicles, a Hyundai Elantra was rear ended while a second parked vehicle, a 2006 Audi A3 was impacted fully. The impact of the collision was so hard that the parked Audi was pushed nearly 30 feet from its position on the roadway onto the front lawn of a nearby residence.
Both vehicles had extensive damage and were towed. The Fiat was uninsured and had 2 occupants, a 31 year old male driver and a 41 year old passenger. Both suffered major injuries and were transported to the hospital.
The driver was exhibiting symptoms consistent with alcohol impairment. Charges are forthcoming as police are continue the investigation into impaired driving, dangerous driving causing bodily harm as well as excessive speed and no insurance, said Cst. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.

There are few details but it doesn’t look like the incident occurred along the stretch where the new highway is going.

EHS sent 4 units and the first one moved in too soon causing dispatch to tell em to get the hell out of there.
Reports are ERT responded for a total of 15-20 RCMP vehicles.

The BC Highways webcam showed RCMP units blocking the road from about 2150 hrs onwards.

The driver was unresponsive so people were breaking the car glass with the metal work in progress signs. An hour later it was all cleaned up.

Victoria, BC – VicPD Traffic officers are investigating after a woman was struck by a vehicle this morning and suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.
Shortly before 10:30 a.m. this morning, Patrol officers were called the intersection of Blanshard and View streets for a report that a woman was struck by a vehicle. Officers attended and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics transported the victim to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
This file remains under investigation. Northbound traffic on Blanshard Street, at View Street, is currently closed.
