Back and front do not match
Maybe they only issue one plate?
Attachment of number plates
3.011 Number plates issued for a vehicle under the Commercial Transport Act or Motor Vehicle Act must be attached
(a)one plate to the front and one plate to the rear of the vehicle, if 2 number plates are issued for a vehicle, and
(b)to the rear of the vehicle, if a single number plate is issued for a vehicle.

It would be nice if BC would have the option for a wide format front plate as some cars just don't have a good spot for the dimensions of the current plate.
I wonder when Alberta will start issuing front plates.

That seems entirely reasonable. The numbers/letter could be the exact same size as they are now, but lose all the superfluous space.

I doubt Alberta would restart issuing front plates as the trend in North America is to do away with them. Front plates are only required in three provinces (BC, Man & Ont). Now Ontario is looking at removing them.

The lack of front plates combined with more automation in parking and traffic enforcement is why we end up with silly regulations like 'no reverse parking'.

I have considered trying to sweet talk an insurance agent into giving me only one plate, as the front plate somewhat spoils the look of my car.

The City of Victoria is considering requiring side guards on all city trucks to make it less likely a pedestrian or cyclist could fall under the truck and get crushed by the wheels.
A cyclist crossing Pandora Avenue near the Johnson Street bridge was hit by the rear wheel of a truck turning right from Store Street this month, while a 28-year-old cyclist was killed in Vancouver’s Yaletown in June in an incident involving a dump truck.
Coun. Stephen Andrew put forward the motion at council’s committee of the whole meeting Thursday. It will be considered at next week’s council meeting.

Does anyone know what this is going to cost in order to prevent a very rare type of accident and only with city vehicles? There has to be a better use for the money.
Andrew is being to act like the other councilors with a total disregard to common sense.

$3000 per truck maybe.

I am guessing it will be more since we are talking custom jobs with the usual premium for a government job.

And this would apply to HOW many CoV vehicles?
